Synthesegas (oder Syngas) ist ein brennbares Gasgemisch, das hauptsächlich aus Wasserstoff (H2) und Kohlenmonoxid (CO) besteht. Es wird durch Prozesse wie die Vergasung von Kohle oder Biomasse oder die Dampfreformierung von Erdgas hergestellt. Synthesegas dient als wichtiger chemischer Grundstoff für die Produktion von Brennstoffen (E-Fuels), Methanol oder Ammoniak.
